Atlantic Truck Show 2015

Moncton, NB – Atlantic Canada’s largest trucking show took place over the weekend at the Moncton Coliseum. Held June 5th and 6th, the 2015 edition of the Atlantic Truck Show wowed visitors and exhibitors alike. Attendance has been steadily on the rise over the past several editions of this biennial event, and this year the show welcomed a record 12,660 attendees.

“Friday was all business, with qualified buyers walking the show floor and exhibitors reporting strong sales activity,” said National Show Manager Mark Cusack. “On Saturday, the aisles and outdoor exhibits were jam-packed, with people networking, buying and selling, checking out the big rigs, and getting up close and personal with a real life Hollywood celebrity – the Western Star Optimus Prime Truck, sponsored by the Maritime Western Star Dealers – a real crowd pleaser!”

This year’s show featured the first biennial Innovative Product Awards, recognizing innovative products in the trucking industry. Parts for Trucks was selected as the winner for its product “Maxwell Engine Start Module”, with Mitchell 1 and Easy-Kleen as strong runners-up. Information on each of the finalists’ entries can be found on the show website.

On the Friday evening of the Atlantic Truck Show, the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA), hosted a Lobster Dinner & Charity Silent Auction. With nearly 500 people in attendance, the event raised over $16,000.00 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Another charitable component of the event came in the form of the Show & Shine, where visitors voted for their favourite truck by making a donation to the Children’s Wish Foundation. The 2015 Show & Shine winner was Mario Gallant, a professional company driver with Atlantic Pacific Transport.

Visitors also enjoyed additional features at the show, including ‘Recruiting Here’, which connected job-seeking visitors with exhibiting companies who were hiring, as well as the APTA’s Charity Pancake Breakfast in support of the Convoy for Hope.

The next edition of the Atlantic Truck Show will take place in 2017; stay tuned to for the most up-to-date information.
