Canada North Resources Expo 2015

Prince George, BC – Staff and management of the Canada North Resources Expo (CNRE), along with members of the Resources Expo Society and CNRE steering committee are thrilled to report that the 2015 edition of the show was a huge success.

The event, which takes place biennially, was held May 29th and 30th at the CN Centre in Prince George and welcomed 8,451 visitors, an increase over 2013 attendance numbers. This year’s edition also featured 30% more outdoor exhibit space than the first edition, showing even more of the forestry, heavy construction and project infrastructure equipment needed to get the big jobs done.

“Visitors representing Northern Canada’s varied resources sectors came out in droves to check out the big iron and live equipment demos,” said Mark Cusack, National Show Manager. “We’ve been hearing great feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike.”

The 2015 edition of the show included a wide range of exciting features, including the first annual Northern BC Safety Conference, a Live Equipment Demo Zone, Bobby & Lori Goodson, stars of the Discovery Channel’s hit reality show “Swamp Loggers”, a Health, Wellness & Safety Zone, a Future of the Industry Day, and a Pancake Breakfast in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters Prince George.

CNRE is produced in partnership with the Resources Expo Society, a not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to facilitate training and educational opportunities in the central and northern BC resources sectors. Funding from the show helps the society achieve its objectives, including the establishment of a legacy scholarship and bursary program at the College of New Caledona, the establishment of a legacy fund with the Prince George Community Foundation, and support for local heavy equipment operation training programs. The Resources Expo Society also helps organize fun events during CNRE – like the pancake breakfast – with proceeds going to local not-for-profit organizations.

The Canada North Resources Expo will return in May 2017 and the show’s management, staff and steering committee are already discussing how to continue growing the show with more exhibitors, more visitors and more equipment! Stay tuned to for the most up-to-date information on the show.
