Moncton Boat Show 2012
The Moncton Boat Show and NB Sportsmen’s Show Featuring the Dieppe Fly Fishing Forum a Huge Success
For Immediate Release
Moncton, NB – The producers of the Moncton Boat Show, Master Promotions Ltd., are pleased to announce that the 2012 edition was a huge success! The addition of the NB Sportsmen’s Show featuring the Dieppe Fly Fishing Forum was a perfect fit and visitors were blown away by this outdoors extravaganza that encompassed the entire Moncton Coliseum Complex.
Attendance to this event was phenomenal as nearly 10,000 buyers came through the doors of the Coliseum. Visitors were lined up before the show opened on Friday and the aisles were jammed all day on Saturday and Sunday.
Exhibitors reported excellent sales activity on the floor in relation to actual boat sales with many solid leads to follow up on, while marine chandleries enjoyed a booming business this year as product streamed out the doors at a steady pace as people readied themselves for the upcoming boating season! People came to shop and it definitely showed. Seminars were well attended as visitors learned about ethanol and marine engines with Art MacNeil, heard stories from the high seas from Derek Hatfield and learned boat buying basics from Pat Nelder with Discover Boating, just to name a few.
Long time Moncton Boat Show exhibitor Phil Barrett from Fredericton’s Phil’s Auto and Recreation thought it was a great idea to combine the two shows under one roof.
“It’s very good. The crowd that’s in that show over there are duck hunters, fishermen and outdoors people, so it brings people that are interested in these (fishing) boats,” he said. “The consumer gets to see even more. Even I like it because I like to fly fish, so I get to go over and check things out too.”
Barrett said they’ve come to the Moncton show every year since the beginning and this weekend, they sold a lot and that they could have sold even more.
“We’ve had a very good show. We always have a good show down here; Moncton’s always a good show.”
On the NB Sportsmen’s Show side, visitors were stocking up on hunting and fishing supplies eagerly waiting for the opening of fishing season in the Maritimes! Visitors were impressed with the high quality and variety of products available at this event. The seminar stage was well attended as guest took in session from Canadian Duck Calling champ Matthew Wilson and Kathryn Maroun from What a Catch Television Show! The Fly Fishing Forum was very well attended and visitors were pleased with the one stop shopping opportunity at this venue.
Media coverage for the event was extensive as we received blanket coverage from the Moncton Times and Transcript and several exhibitors commented on the high quality advertising campaign for this year’s event.
We would like to thank Quartermaster Marine for sponsoring the awesome door prize of a Crestliner Boat, motor and trailer package; congratulations to Ryan Cormier!
We now look towards our 2013edition of the Moncton Boat Show and the 2nd annual NB Sportsmen’s Show featuring the Dieppe Fly Fishing Forum on March 15-17! Until then, Bon Voyage!
