The 2010 Edition of Fish Canada/Workboat Canada a Success!
Fishermen, RCMP, Firefighters and basically anyone who works on or near the water from all over the Maritimes plotted a course for the Moncton Coliseum and were not left disappointed.
Show management are happy to announce that attendance numbers were on par with previous years and reports that retail on the floor was brisk with exhibitors walking away with many sales and solid leads to follow up on for the upcoming season and beyond.
Over 100 exhibitors displayed the newest and most innovative commercial fisheries products and services, which intrigued visitors and helped make decisions about new efficient product purchases.
The First Biennial Industry Achievement awards were also handed out during the reception a the Delta Beausejour. The winners were individuals who have contributed to the betterment of the industry, be it through volunteering or other outstanding contributions to their community and to the fishing industry.
Selecting the winners of this award was a daunting task, as over a dozen high caliber nominations were received.
The winners of this inaugural award are as follows:
- Gold - FRANK MCLAUGHLIN from Tracadie N.B.
- Silver - DOUG FRASER from Alberton P.E.I.
- Bronze - DELMA DOUCETTE from Black’s Harbour, N.B.
We are now looking towards the horizon and a positive future for this industry and will soon be determining our 2012 dates for this high caliber event! We will see many of you at the North Atlantic Fish and Workboat Show in St. John’s Newfoundland on November 1st 2010!
