Halifax International Boat Show
The owners of the Halifax International Boat Show, The Atlantic Marine Trades Association, are pleased to report that the event continues to ride a wave of success!
Residents of the Maritimes plotted a course for Exhibition Park in Halifax last week, and did not leave disappointed!
The Halifax International Boat Show brought together the largest and most sought after brands of boats and boating equipment in Eastern Canada, all under one roof.
Mother Nature was not very friendly during move-in but it was smooth sailing for the duration of the actual event!
Chandleries reported increased sales over 2009 that could be attributed to the 6% increase in traffic at the door. Dealers were pleased with the quality of visitors to their booths and sales being made with many solid leads to follow up with over the coming months.
There was a wave of winning at the 2010 Halifax International Boat Show and we would like to congratulate the following winners: VIP Night – Helly Hansen PFD: Lorraine Fulcher; Neptune Theatre Tickets: Heather Ann Jennex and Pat Haight.
Daily Draws – Neptune Theatre Tickets: Ferris Tobin, Dorothy Gibson, Nancy Mason, Gordon Hines and the Brier Tickets went to Sherry Ritcey.
The Grand Prize Winner of a Zodiac Zoom 310 inflatable and 3 Helly Hansen PFDs was Gary O’Brien. We thank Seamasters Marine Services for providing that awesome prize.
There was a sad note for the event for one of our exhibitors, Wayne Hoskins and Schooner Cove Marine Ltd. They had to deal with a major fire at their boatyard but exhibited in the show regardless. Our thoughts are with them as they start the process of rebuilding.
We will see some exhibitors at the Moncton Boat Show but if not, chart a course for the 2011 event and we bid you “Bon Voyage” until then!
