Spring Ideal Home Show 2016
Spring was in the air at the Nova Scotia Spring Ideal Home Show and the mood at Halifax Exhibition Centre was lively!
This year saw a significant increase in visitor traffic, with business being written at the show and sales interest was encouraging. Even with Friday’s monsoon, numbers were up over the previous year, with significant increases on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors were eager to get advice on their projects, buy products, and book appointments.
“We really enjoyed the show this year,” said Tammy White, Elmsdale Landscaping. “The layout was great as everyone had to pass through the garden center which certainly made a big difference for us. It seemed like there was always a steady stream. We look forward to attending next year.”
“The attendance was up and we were happy with the leads generated from the show. We’ve been working through them all week,” said Glenn Geddes, Glenmar Heating. “We’ve attended the Spring Ideal Home show for 19 years and it is our main event for bringing in business.”
The show’s media partner Bell Media enhanced event coverage before the event and most certainly during. Special thanks to CTV News at 5, C100 and the Bounce for coming out in full force and supporting the partnership in a big way. News stories, weather broadcasts, $100 minutes and text-to-win contests were some of the Bell highlights that engaged visitors and informed consumers throughout the entire event.
Thanks also to Herald Homes, White Point Beach Resort, Scouts Canada, and KVADRO Furniture, door prize sponsor. Congratulations to Susan Hilchie, who won a handcrafted chair from KVADRO Furniture.
The event enjoyed a good cross-section of categories, with everything for home building and renovation being represented – from heat pumps to countertops. There was lots of home design and decor “eye candy”, together with straight-up advice, pricing and plans for renovation and new products both inside and out.
Event partners Landscape Nova Scotia enjoyed the brisk attendance and offered lots of great solutions for lawn and garden spring plans. Their section included the Herald Homes Stage, which offered advice on home staging, solar energy and perennial favourite (pun intended) florist Neville MacKay from My Mothers Bloomers.
We now look forward to our fall event as well as continued improvements to the facility, which will be very welcome!
The Nova Scotia Fall Ideal Home Show will take place at HEC on September 30, October 1 & 2, 2016. Exhibitors who are interested in reserving a space for the show can contact Bev Campbell at firstname.lastname@example.org or Denise Miller at email@example.com.
